This place was quite nice but if there is no one to guide you you just need to see it all by yourself so it’s little boring

The highlight for many is the reconstructed 12th-century shrine from the main temple, complete with delicately carved ceilings and it also showcases spiritual paintings. Brief History: It is said that the ancient shrine was refurbished by the Chalukyan Maharaja Shri Mularaja Deva Solanki of Anhilvada Patan.

Total disappointment! A rich treasure trove of an important part of our history has been ignored, neglected and suppressed. The place itself is absolutely neglected and in ruins. It's a travesty to call this place a museum. All the salvaged relics of the 11th AD Somnath Temple, that was destroyed by Mohd. Gaznavi, are just kept here with no write-ups and information for the visitors. Except for one placard in the museum that briefly summarises the history of the temple, there's no other information that is available. Local auto and cab drivers don't even know that such a place exists. It's located somewhere in the narrow lanes of the town which can only be reached on foot or by an autorickshaw. There's no effort being taken by the government to maintain, promote, publicise and improve the place. It's a disgrace.

This place has so much stories to tell. So many historical artifacts but there is just no one to tell you the relevance and history. I just wonder how come such a great place be kept is such a shabby manner. Even the information available is there only in Gujarati. I assume they are not expecting much of national and international visitors at this place. Very promising but very disappointing.

You should visit this place if you love ancient scripture else you can ignore this place. It would hardly take around an hour to visit this place. 👉 How Far? • 10 minutes walking distance from Somnath Mandir.

Small but have very important artifacts from the old Somnath Temple. It is just 15-20 min walking distance from the Somnath Temple.

the place is known as triveni sangam of hiran,kapila and gup sarasvati. this place has peaceful nature and there is a beautiful gayatri temple near to it. also there is pandavas cave and near to it the 'charan paduka' of lord krishna according to mythology. beautiful place specially in monsoon. i visited it more than 5 times.
